MVPW 04: Brittany Sims Edges Cardenas in Eight-Round Thriller
Brittany Sims didn’t start training in boxing until the age of 21, but she’s found success in the sport and other combat disciplines. Sims enters this fight with a 9-3 record and as the WBA’s No. 1-ranked bantamweight, along with her WBA international bantamweight title. Sims last fought in September, defeating Natalia Francesca.
Naomy Cardenas spent 10 years on the amateur circuit before her pro career, coming into tonight’s bout at 10-1. Cardenas is known for her aggression and pressure. Cardenas rebounded from an unsuccessful challenge for the WBO super flyweight title with a win over Susy Kandy Sandoval Rodriguez in March.
