Estefany Alegria Upsets Bermudez to Win Three Belts

Evelyn Bermudez is known for her technical precision, high-volume punching, and ring intelligence. Bermudez became a two-time light flyweight IBF and WBO champion when she defeated Tania Enriquez in 2023. She added the WBA title to her resume with a win over Sara Bailey last year.

Estefany Alegria has a fight style that is built on tight defense and precise combinations that wear down her opponents. Alegria enters 14-1, with a No. 9 WBA ranking and a WBA Gold title. She last fought in March, earning a decision over Danna Paola Alanis Cid.

ROUND 1

Algeria back on the attack, landing upstairs before re-focusing on the body. One-two by Bermudez. Another exchange, with Bermudez landing inside. Now Alegria returns it with an uppercut. Left hands from both women. Algeria going back to the body. Left hand by Bermudez. Alegria going to the body. Alegria putting a pace and pressure on Bermudez. Alegria trying to work Bermudez near the ropes, and Bermudez appears to be hurting. Bermudez misses an overhand right.

ROUND 5

Alegria right back to pressuring, and Bermudez is feeling it at this point. Bermudez throws some lefts, but they aren’t getting through. Bermudez throws a right, and Alegria answers back with a combination. Alegria lands an uppercut. One-two by Alegria. Alegria with a right hand. Bermudez working body shots. Alegria landing more to the body. One-two by Bermudez. Both women landing on the inside.
