MVPW-05: Angelo Hernandez Outpoints Jose Fernandez

Angelo Hernandez reached a national regional final as a junior in 2018, then won the same regional title a year later. As an amateur, Hernandez won the Intermediate Division final at the 2019 USA Eastern Regional Prep Open and reached the quarter-finals of the 2021 USA

National Championships. Hernandez made his professional debut in October, knocking out Adam Veen in 22 seconds.

After making his debut in October 2019, Jose Fernandez did not compete again for five years until returning in November 2024. The 24-year-old Venezuelan scored a first-round stoppage of Zayveon Mitchell in his return. Most recently, Fernandez came from behind to knock out Giovanni Louis in February.

ROUND 1

Left hand by Fernandez. The two have to be separated, but not before a headbutt! The ref warns both fighters to clean it up. Hernandez gets cornered, but he gets out of the way of Fernandez. Right hand lands for Hernandez. Fernandez comes forward and they have to get separated again at the bell.

ROUND 2

The ref warns both fighters again. Left hands from Hernandez. Hernandez with a right straight, and Fernandez tries to fire back. Solid combination from Hernandez. Left jab by Hernandez.
