MVPW-05: Amanda Galle Dominates Shurretta Metcalf
Shurretta Metcalf may have had a rough start to her career, but she bounced back with seven straight wins between 2018 and 2022, and she now has a record of 15-5-1. Metcalf is the former IBF bantamweight champion, winning the title just days before her 40th birthday. Metcalf most recently fought in October, defeating Krystal Rosado.
Amanda Galle, a two-time Ontario Golden Gloves champion, made her pro debut in 2019 and claimed the Canadian super bantamweight championship in 2022. Galle then became IBO bantamweight champion by defeating Niorkis Carreno, and retained the title in a rematch a year later. Galle’s only career loss entering tonight came last December, when she fell short against Cherneka Johnson in an undisputed title fight.
With both women having come up short against Cherneka Johnson in recent times, who will prove they are worthy of another crack at gold sooner rather than later?
