MVPW 01 London — Live From Olympia: Round-by-Round Updates
Caroline Dubois scores knockdown, gains WBO title alongside retaining WBC belt
The unbeaten Dubois controlled much of the ten-round main event with her sharp right hand and crisp combinations, flooring the champion in round 6 with a clean left hand in what proved to be the defining moment of the fight. Harper showed tremendous heart — battling through the knockdown, multiple head clashes, and heavy bleeding to make it a competitive final stretch — but the judges had no doubts, scoring it 98-91 twice and 97-92 in favor of Dubois, who now holds two of boxing’s four major lightweight titles.
Ellie Scotney Makes History As Undisputed Super Bantamweight Champion
In a thrilling ten-round war that had fight-of-the-year contender written all over it, Scotney outboxed the relentless Mexican challenger with sharp counters, clean combinations, and composed ringcraft — neutralizing Flores‘ constant pressure and heavy-handed aggression to take the WBA belt and complete the undisputed collection. The scorecards told two different stories — one judge saw it close at 96-94, while two others scored it a wide 100-90 — but there was no disputing the result: Scotney is the sole queen of super bantamweight.
Chantelle Cameron brings the pressure, gets the WBO super welterweight title
Britain’s former undisputed super lightweight champion made an immediate statement in her new division, relentlessly walking down the unbeaten Austrian contender for all ten rounds with punishing body work and constant forward pressure, earning scorecards of 100-90 and 99-91 twice. Kotaskova showed heart and kept throwing throughout, but Cameron was simply too much, cementing her status as one of the sport’s elite fighters.
Irma Garcia brings power to retain her IBF title
The champion showed exactly why she’s a two-division titlist, dropping the undefeated Dolan three times across rounds 2 and 3 before Dolan‘s corner threw in the towel at 1:23 of the third round. Despite Dolan’s promising start in round 1, Garcia‘s punching power proved too much for the British and Commonwealth champion, who was making her first world title attempt.
Shannon Courtenay does damage, gets third-round TKO
The former WBA bantamweight champion showed her trademark pressure throughout, dropping Booker in round 2 with a flush left hand before finishing the job in round 3 with a flurry against the ropes — though the stoppage came with an asterisk, as a clash of heads preceded the final knockdown. Despite the controversy, Courtenay was clearly in control of the fight, and the result stood.
Teresa Makinen edges out Chloe Watson in close battle
The Finnish national champion controlled much of the eight-round bantamweight contest with her inside work and body shots, edging out a 77-75 verdict despite Watson‘s persistent pressure and strong stretches in the middle rounds. Both women had their moments in a close, competitive fight, but Makinen‘s consistency proved to be the difference.
Elizabeth Oshoba shows her strength, scoring third-round stoppage in London
The former IBF international and WBC silver champion was dominant from the opening bell, establishing her right hand and body work early before turning up the pressure in round 3, eventually trapping Arnell on the ropes and forcing the referee to step in at just 0:42 of the round. At 10-0, Oshoba continues to build an impressive résumé and looks like a serious contender at super featherweight.
