Ellie Scotney Makes History As Undisputed Super Bantamweight Champion

Having known the sport since the age of 9, Ellie Scotney had a noteworthy amateur run before turning pro in 2020. Scotney became IBF super bantamweight champion by defeating Cherneka Johnson in June 2023 before adding the WBO and WBC titles with a win over Ségolène Lefebvre the next year. She defended all of her titles in 2025 as part of the Taylor vs. Serrano undercard, defeating Yamileth Mercado. A win tonight will mark Scotney the youngest British boxer ever to become an undisputed champion in boxing’s four-belt era.

Mayelli Flores made her pro debut in 2014 and enters tonight 13-1-1 in the sport. It was in 2023 when she had a breakout moment, thanks to her victory over Mariana Juarez. Then, she became WBA super bantamweight champion by defeating Nazarena Romero 11 months ago. Tonight’s fight is the first time she is defending the WBA belt. Furthermore, with a win tonight, she will become the first Mexican-born undisputed world champion – and just the second, alongside the legendary Canelo Alvarez.
