MVPW-05: Sa'rai Brown-El Wins Bruising Battle With Moreno

Sa’rai Brown-El had an accolade-filled amateur career, which includes USA Boxing youth national titles in 2021 and 2022, as well as becoming a three-time National Junior Olympics champion from 2017-2019. Brown-El added the 2024 USA National Championship at 106 pounds in 2024. She made her pro debut at the MVPW04 card in June, defeating Ashley Felix.

Sheyla Moreno is 5-0-1 and competes for the first time outside of Mexico tonight. Moreno competed in the 2022 IBA World Women’s Youth Championships (a tournament that also featured Brown-El) and the 2022 Mexican Olympic Festival youth tournament. This is her first fight since battling Briza Sarahi Oliva Garibay to a split draw 10 months ago.

ROUND 1

Moreno throws a strong left and tries for a combination, but Brown-El lands a counter.

ROUND 2

Moreno flashing the jab. She tries to come forward, but Brown-El gets around her. Brown-El doing work. Moreno gets inside and lands to the body in close. Moreno trying to pressure and push the pace.
