MVPW 04: Pedro Veitia Stops Afolabi via TKO, Stays Undefeated
Pedro Veitia enters tonight unbeaten with seven wins and one draw. A 2022 La Nucía Junior World Boxing Championships participant, Veitia last fought in February, scoring a TKO over Rashad Bowens.
Taiwo Afolabi enters this bout undefeated at 6-0. All of his fights have ended via KO, with five of them coming in the first round. Afolabi has been inactive, however, with his last fight being a win over Reynaldo Esquivia in February 2023.
ROUND 1
Left hand by Veitia. A couple of left hands land for Afolabi as he tries to get inside. Right hand by Veitia. A series of left hands from Afolabi. Left hand by Veitia. Right hand by Veitia. A couple of left hands by Veitia, one to the head and one to the body. Right hand by Afolabi. A clinch and both men landing inside. Left hand by Afolabi.

Afolabi tries to land a left on a covered Veitia. Strong right hand by Veitia. Veitia pressures in the closing seconds, trying to pressure Afolabi into a corner, but he doesn’t get much of it.

Veitia lands to the body with a jab to the body. Afolabi misses a right and Veitia briefly clinches. Left hand by Veitia, as Afolabi tries to clinch after a right. Left hand to the body by Veitia. Right hand to the body now. Right hand upstairs by Veitia. A brief exchange. Uppercut to the body, followed by a hook upstairs by Veitia.

Veitia pressures early, bringing Afolabi to the ropes. Veitia works combinations. A big shot and Afolabi falls into the ropes. Standing 8 count! Veitia tries to get back on the attack, but Afolabi tries to land a couple of powerful shots. Afolabi briefly gets trapped in the corner by Veitia. Uppercut and a hook by Veitia, who follows up with body shots.
After another brief clinch, Afolabi gets himself trapped in the ropes. A right hook lands and Afolabi backs into the ropes, sitting on the second rope. A right hand by Veitia! Veitia works a combination. Another couple of right hands and we have to have another separation. Veitia trying to pressure and end the fight. Afolabi is using the ropes to limit damage.
