MVPW-05: Dina Thorslund Ends Cherneka Johnson’s Undisputed Run
Cherneka Johnson was a world champion at super bantamweight before moving up to bantamweight. She claimed the WBA title from Nina Hughes in 2022 and then scored the remaining championships in July 2025 by defeating Shurretta Metcalf. She retained her undisputed title against Amanda Galle in December, defeating her on the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua undercard.

Dina Thoursland is 24-0 and has captured championships in three different weight classes. She was scheduled to be the original opponent for Johnson in July 2025, having carried the other three alphabet organizations’ titles, but she withdrew due to pregnancy that would end in a tragic miscarriage. She returned to the ring in January, scoring a decision win over Almudena Alvarez to become interim WBC featherweight champion.
