Lourdes Juarez puts on strong display, gets split decision in WBC light flyweight title defense
One of the most successful fighters competing tonight, Lourdes Juarez is 39-4 and has won gold at light flyweight, flyweight, and super flyweight. Juarez has won four straight since dropping the WBC super flyweight title to Ashley Gonzalez and losing the rematch. Juarez won the WBC light flyweight title by defeating Yesenia Gómez and has since retained it against Mirna Sanchez and Yesica Nery Plata.
After starting her sports journey through volleyball, Yokasta Valle went on to become a boxer, competing as early as her teenage years. She has since become a three-division world champion, claiming gold at atomweight, light flyweight, and strawweight. The 34-3 fighter last fought in December on the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua undercard, defending the WBC mini-flyweight title against Yadira Bustillos.
