Nataly Delgado Outpoints Artiga to Win WBA Title

A native Floridian, Jasmine Artiga found boxing at the age of 21 and has developed herself into a diligent athlete with God-given abilities. Artiga claimed the WBA super flyweight title by defeating Regina Chavez. She successfully defended the title this past December, defeating Stephanie Silva.

Panama’s only boxing champion in the last 10 years, Nataly Delgado has a technical and precision-focused fight style. Delago picked up the interim WBA title back in July 2025, defeating Maribel Ramirez. She successfully defended that title with a win over Yoselin Fernandez in March.

ROUND 1

Artiga coming forward with the right hand. Delgado sitting back and firing off the right hand as well. Left hand by Artiga. Delgado looking to land countershots at this point. Artiga coming forward, flashing the right. A couple of left hands land for Delgado. Each woman lands a straight. Delgado with a right to the body. Artiga answers with one of her own. Delgado with another strong shot. Left hand lands for Artiga. Right hand by Delgado.

ROUND 2

Both firing off the right hand. Right hand by Delgado. Delago works a combination to the body. Artiga blocks a left. Both women land a right. Delgado lands upstairs. Artiga fires off two punches. Right hook to the body by Delgado. Artiga with a left hand. Delgado lands upstairs, but Artiga lands a hook. Right hook by Artiga catches Delgado coming in. One-two by Delgado. Delgado lands to the body.

ROUND 3

Both women look to land inside. Artiga with a couple of rights. Delgado trying to get back inside to the body. Artiga with a pair of shots. Artiga with hooks, and Delgado clinches Artiga up. Left hand by Delgado. Right hand by Artiga. Left hand by Artiga. Left hand by Artiga, as Delgado misses a right. Big right hand lands for Delgado. Uppercut by Delgado. Delgado comes forward with a combination.

Left hand by Artiga. Another clinch up. Right hand lands for Delgado. Delgado connects to the body with a left. Combination by Artiga. Delgado lands a series of right hands. Artiga comes forward with a combination but lands nothing. Right hook by Artiga. Left hand by Delgado. A couple of right hands land for Artiga. Delgado with a combination to the body. And another, backing Artiga into a corner briefly. Artiga looking to land the right hand. Left hand lands for Delgado.

ROUND 5

A series of right hands by Artiga. Delgado lands one of her own rights. A little exchange before a clinch up. Left hand lands for Artiga. Delgado with the left. Delgado misses a right. Artiga misses a combination as she tries to get inside. One-two by Delgado. Artiga lands a left inside, but Delgado catches her. Delgado with a combination, and Artiga lands at the body.

ROUND 6

Delgado winds up with a big shot, and Artiga is slightly off balance. Delgado lands to the body, and Artiga misses a hook. Right hand and a left by Delgado. Right hand by Delgado. Delgado continues to pressure. A brief clinch here. Delgado with a right hand that lands on the button. Delgado with another right hand. Artiga coming back with a couple of strong straights. Strong right hand by Artiga.

ROUND 7

Right hand by Artiga. Both fire off combinations that don’t land in full. Delgado lands a right hand. Another clinch. Delgado with a pair of left hands. Artiga backs Delgado up with a combination. Artiga fires a pair of right hands, and Delgado answers with body shots. A couple of strong punches land upstairs for Artiga. Both women land a left hand. A brief tie up as Artiga comes in to land inside. And now another tie up, this time on the Delgado end. Left hand by Delgado.

ROUND 8

Delgado landing the left hand. Delgado comes forward and lands a right. Uppercut to the body by Delgado, but she misses the follow-up hook. Delgado lands a strong right hand. Artiga lands on the inside. Delgado misses the counter right hook. Artiga comes forward with the left hand, but Delgado tries to tie things up. Artiga lands a right hand and left hook that caught Delgado’s attention! Right hook and a left uppercut lands for Artiga before the bell.

Artiga fires a combination to the body but doesn’t land. Delgado landing on the body. Both women miss on a right hook. A clinch and the two have to be separated. Right hand lands for Delgado. Artiga connects on the inside before a clinch. Overhand right by Delgado. Combinations from both women. Right hand by Delgado. Right hand lands for Delgado in the clinch. A couple of left hands by Artiga. The two swing away until the final bell!
